You are My Son, today I have fathered you!

I have read the book of Hebrews many times over the last decade. Trying to figure out who could have possibly penned this phenomenal letter. However, it wasn't until today that I realized that in all my pondering, I had glazed over a key component of the chapter, hidden in the very first few verses.

Hebrews 1:4 AMP

...having become as much superior to angels, since He has inherited a more excellent and glorious name than they [that is, Son—the name above all names].

It's all about sonship!!! The greatest name that God had in His heart to give Jesus and to give us, is that of son and daughter!! WOW! Mic drop!! This chapter has rocked my heart so much today. Jesus, the first born among many brothers (Romans 8:29) David's heir to the throne, forevermore (1 Kings 9:5, Psalm 89:29, 132:11 and Isaiah 9:7)

From the place of sonship, we rightfully discern our God. He is our approachable and loving Papa, who anoints us with grace and gladness! There is nothing that His heart won't release to His sons and daughters, who love righteousness and hate lawlessness.
