By the Power of the Holy Spirit...

Have you ever wondered what you are called to do and how in the world are you ever going to accomplish it? I can guarantee that you are not the first to ponder this deep mystery and you most certainly won't be the last. Questioning the how and the why isn't an awful place to land, either. In fact, I think it is the healthiest place to begin. Over the last decade or so, this has been something that I have dialogued with Papa about. A lot. He always seems to point me back to this scripture.

Romans 15:13 AMP

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.

I heard Justin Rizzo say, "All believers are anointed to heal the brokenhearted, touch the poor, bring sight to the blind and freedom to captives—by the power of the Holy Spirit. But how has He anointed or gifted you to do that?" He then said this earth-shattering revelation he received and has been living into for last 20 years.

"Your anointing is how you’re blessed or empowered."

WHAT?! You mean, 'the anointing' is not just a cookie cutter thing?! The light bulbs went off in my spirit like the lights on Broadway! Holy Spirit isn't here to manufacture drones for Jesus. He is here to awaken individuals to love Papa with all they are and to live their lives with purpose, on purpose, from the place of blessing and empowerment! So, let's ask ourselves a question: What moves my heart the most?

For me, it's leading worship and intercession. I am profoundly affected when I am singing back the scriptures. It can be in my car, bathroom, HOP, church, with friends, with a YouTube video, anywhere, and anytime! For others it's fashion, social justice, women's ministry, small groups, children's church, evangelism or missions.

Once we learn the way Papa has anointed us, we grow in confidence. As we grow in confidence, we mature and can actually pinpoint some of your strengths. The anointing in our lives cannot be earned, but I believe it must be stewarded and it increases as you spend more time with Jesus.

Check out John 14 in the Amplified translation. It really is all by the power of the Holy Spirit.
